These are 2 stroke. Mix the fuel at 50:1 ratio and use TCW-3 outboard oil. Thos old 33's are good motors and were built on the '57 35hp design. The only difference is the engine shrouding and the absence of a compression release set up. It's still a 40.5 cube motor, like the older 35's and every bit as reliable. Good luck with it. I think you'll enjoy running it. If it has been sitting for some time, then it's likely the water pump impeller will need to be changed. I would remove the hand starter and remove the small aluminum plate on top of the flywheel and see if the coils look good. If the coils are cracked, then they'll need replacement. See that the points are cleaned and gapped at .020. Any further questions, let us know. Post some pics. We like to see whatcha got.;)

I got a '67 33hp that I run on my 14ft lund. Good motor once you get it running. I converted mine to a tiller steer and it gets my boat up and running pretty well. I've been out a good number of times this year, and not a single issue. Starts every time, idles really well, and has a good top end.

As everyone else said, it's a two stroke, 50:1 gas to oil ratio. Any other questions, these folks here on the forum can help you out.

I'm working on a '67 33HP Evinrude Ski Twin right now. I got two of them off Craigslist and have been swapping parts to get the better one running strong. I've gone through the motor and all parts pretty well over the last few weeks so fire away if you have questions or problems.

To answer the original question: 2 stroke. 50:1 mix.

Did you get one of them from a guy in Aledo?

I think I sold it to you.

Haha, small world. I got the tiller installed and replaced the throttle linkage, got the solenoid and starter motor working. Cleaned the carb and the motor fired up but one of my coils was bad so it was sparking on just one plug. The coils on the motor you sold me looked pretty new so I'm swapping those this weekend. Just about done working on it and ready to start fishing.
