Hello fellow boaters,
I am new to the boating world and just purchased a very clean low hour 1993 maxum with a force 70 outboard.
I found the motor to be low on compression so I tore it down to find the #1 cylinder badly scored and .08" out of round. So out to the machine shop it goes.
My question is, Is it standard practice to replace the crank and rod bearings at this time even though they look to be ok (no scores or pitting) or are they fine to re-use?
