150 blackmax xr2...speed?

i have a 1989 blackmax 150 on a 17 foot skeeter and i can only get it to about 52 and i am wondering if anyone else has a similar setup and what type of speeds your getting?

I posted Saturday with a similar problem and got good replies. Look up RPM /speed(Sunday Morning) and see the replies I got.

I have a '86 150 XR2 on a Bass Tracker 1710 Bass boat, 23 pitch LaserII prop turns 5900 RPM's @ 60 MPH. What prop are you running and how many RPM's are you getting? I think you could get a little more out of her, this is a fast motor and likes to run at 6000 RPM's. I just put a 6" jack plate on mine and I hope to get a few more RPM's and a little more speed when I get the setup dialed in.

That's about what I was getting with a bass tracker and an XR4. (53) Much fuel system fixing, link n sync, engine raised a bit, right prop, and get rid of 300 lbs of wet foam under the battery deck and I'm in the 60's.

The certified Murkery mechanic working on mine was a maroon.
