I dropped the "Queen" in the water yesterday to check for leaks. Turns out I have 3 minor leaky seams. I searched the web last night and came across Gulvits. Has anyone used this stuff before? I have a lot of experance with epoxy (built a 12' skiff last year). It looks pretty straight forward just a few concerns with prep before applying.

Here is a pic of her sitting at the launch. w/o the windsheild it almost looks like a gun boat lol. Im fairly shocked as to how stable is is! My brother and I (around 400 lbs) sat on the transom tring to get an idea of motor weight and the bow only rose about 4-5 in.

Built like a tank!

Mine came from the factory as an IO. I plan to take out all that and put a Gill-Drive off the back.

Do you have any pictures you can share? As you can see its just a hull. I have my own plans for the seating but would like see some of the deck hardware the boat came with.

Mine has a few issues with the hull. The previous owner ran a ground a few times and there are some repairs to the bottom. One of looks like someone took a 1" hole saw and drilled a hole in the bottom! Then patched with bondo lol. but aside from that its in decent shape.

No, no pics. Mine's a train wreck inside anyways - previous owner had replaced all the seating and engine box with parts salvaged out of other boats. Then he went and died in November and the boat sat outside all winter filling with water until I got it in April. The water covered the engine, so all the oil came out. I ripped out everything, including the floor and all the water and oil soaked floatation.

But structurally, the boat is in excellent shape. No dings, no tears, no corrosion. The sheet metal is straight and smooth.

Re: Put the Queen in the Water!

We just replaced the floor this past weekend. It was a little irritating how they angled the sides. My brother and I contemplated adding a small riser to level off the main floor to the sides but decided it would be just as much work.

Do you have any good suggestions on how to clean/polish up the aluminum. There are minor pitts here and there, so a show is out of the question. However I would like to bring back some of its luster. A good 20' finish would be nice...
