1985 Yamaha 50 hp running problem

This motor i have was sitting outside for 3 years. I put a new water pump and cleaned out the carbs, changed the plugs and fresh gas. so i fires it up and it ran ok so i put the boat in the lake for i trial run and it ran great 4 about 15 min or so (WOT] so i shut it down for a min to check for any leaks. Fired it back up and it would only run at idle no power at all ? any ideas?

You didn't say anything about changing the fuel lines.... After all the cleaning you did, your carbs may have picked up any trash that was left in the lines upon the first test run. I'm guessing that you have gunk blocking your jets now that may have been from inside the lines. Sounds to me like it's most probably your carb jets though. Let us know how it goes.
