I recently got one of these and boy does it fix the problem!!

www.superfinmarine.com

Looks pretty simple and stuff. My dad was bitchin at me about how the boat goes back in forth, picked this up on a whim thinking "what the heck" and sure enough it fixed the problem!

Does it affect your top end speed? You'd think that would add a lot of drag while planing.

Well, I only hit 43 mph at my top end anyway lol.........so I guess I cant answer that.......you know how as you speed up more and more even a tiny thin can amplify it's effects. :) You'd have to ask someone with more than a 3.0 liter.

My 70hp outboard only pushes me 35mph, going with the wind!

Don't think that fin would be right for my application but it's basically a rudder. If it helps with slow speed wander and doesn't take too much off the top end seems like a good idea to me.

Cheers

Does it affect the planing speed? Do you start planing at a lower speed?
