Panic setting in.

I switched the registration on the boat in the beginning of June, he gave me a temp. (round) sticker that reads "good til last day 7/10". I have not received anything as of yet in the mail. I'm concerned & won't chance taking the boat out with out the correct documents. I was just pulled over by the Pa. Fish commission on Sunday(2 fatal boating accidents so far this year), & inspected for safety equipment, he asked for the paperwork. I could have sworn I put it in the glove box (if you can call it that), but it was not there. I ran up to the truck & ripped through that, not there either. He said not to worry about it this time & called it in on the radio (like a cop would do), just to confirm it was registered. He came back, gave me my ID, told me to make sure I have it the next time I'm on the water, have a nice day. Now I'm in panic mode. Where the hell is my registration? Anyone from Pa. here with same issue? Do they normally take this long? It's the 29th & the weather man is calling for the nicest 5 day, 4th of July stretch in 48 years, & I'll be stuck sitting in the driveway at my house behind the steering wheel of the boat making motor boat noises wishing I was at the lake, like that other thread:D. Sorry, needed to vent......

Re: Panic setting in.

You did not get a copy of the form you filled out for the new registration?

Here in Illinois, the registration form IS your temporary registration. It is good for 120 days from the date signed. Look into this with the agency you had to register through.

On a side note, I would think that if there is no paper temporary registration, that the sticker that you were given should satisfy the CPO, after all, why would the department go to the expense and hassle to create and issue it if it is invalid?

Good luck, and I don't think you will be sitting in the yard this weekend.:)
Sounds like a mountain out of a mole hill to me;)

I know it's handy for some officers to be able to look at the registration, and I know your supposed to carry it with you. But in this day and age they can get that info in a matter of seconds (which they do any way even if you have the papers). Your hull registration # or maybe the temp sticker has a number on it will give them enough info to check. I wouldn't sweat that to much. As for the permanent sticker...it will come. In Idaho the sheriff will board any boat that doesn't have the safety sticker for the year, after the inspection you get a new sticker and are not usually inspected or boarded until next year.

I'm from NW PA and I registered my boat at the end of March 2010, and I think it was about a month until I got my regular registration card and "square" sticker. Don't worry about it, your temp (round) sticker is good for 60 days anyway, so enjoy this weekend! And it is going to be gorgeous this week here in Pennsylvania!

I'm in Nevada and here, when you register the boat, the officer hands you the new sticker that is good for the year. But I agree with earlier posts, that officer has a radio and can tell in seconds whether the registration is current or not by pressing a button and talking.

The great state of Ill cashed my renewel check on May 19th and they havent mailed me my sticker yet! No change in names or address. Their pre-printed and filled out envelope no less. Wont fax or email me anything either, so I printed out the cancelled check as a receipt. I'll be in Wisc. over the fourth and I know the DNR up there will be looking real close at boats with an "IL" near the bow.

I have always found PA Fish & Boat to be pretty quick. Give them a call, they are surprisingly great to deal with.

Yep, dumbass again. I called the comish. & they asked the hull ID #, as I was reading it off to the lady on the phone I did realize it was the "LAST" day 7-10. Felt like a retard again, she said they were working on July reg.'s now & should be out in the mail in a week or so...... Sorry.
