Help. My son deleted my picture of the wiring for the 807653 alternator. I have one orange and one black. I know the black is ground and the orange is to the battery. just not sure of the post. i have one marked "p", l2, e and one unmarked but it has a wire to a little box marked 250v
anyone have an image of the wiring? or can tell me which posts to use?

Re: alternator wiring

The GM Single wire only has 1 post. What was the old type and what are you replacing it with?

Re: alternator wiring

it is a 6 groove 65a 12v. looks exactly like the one i took out. for a mercury stern drive. my son "thinks" the ground was on top and orange was on the bottom. that would put the ground on "P" and the orange on a post marked L2. Which has a wire going into something that has my purple and red wires, those I have no problem with

P and L2 are both capped on the new one which leads me to think those are the two i use...just hate to blow the thing up...
