I have a 2 amp trickle charger, it has a 6 volt and 12 volt setting. I just bought a Everstart 27DC-6 marine deep cycle battery. it says 115 amp hours and 160 reserve capacity. I would like to use this thing tomorrow afternoon on my 12 ft john-boat with a 32lb thrust trolling motor for a few hours. so what setting should it be on? 6 or 12? thanks for the help, sorry this is prob a real stupid question but I haven't had much luck searching for the answer.

If it is a 12 volt battery, then use the 12 volt setting. At 2 amps, you should be able to leave it on overnight with out overcharging. However, it wouldn't hurt to test the battery before charging to see if it needs to be charged.

It's a 12 volt battery. You would be hard pressed to locate a 6 volt deep-cycle marine battery. Never even seen one.....
