Johnson 115 Ocean Pro 1987 heating problem

My start fine and after 30 - 60 minutes turns off or when you turn it off doesn't start again.

You wait 1 - 2 hr and start fine again.

We change the impeller around a 6 weeks and the motor have a good flow of water coming out.

A mechanic disconnect one of the sensors and told me to test it. The motor turn off again. The panel doesn't give any light or sound.

Could any one explain me the logic of this sensors or send me the wiring diagram to test each?

None of the temp sensors will prevent it from starting, if it overheats. It will, however, run on 2 cylinders, if the temp sensor thinks it is overheating.

The temp sensors short to ground, when they detect high temp. This allows the horn and light to indicate overheat.

The two wire temp sensor, tells the powerpack when the motor is cold or overheating. The tan wire is overheat, the white/black is cold sensor to the PP.

Check the ignition system. You need manual and meter.

I have a friend with a book and I will get it later today.

Could any one told wich sensor to look and test during the failure. Which sensor cut be cutting electricity to avoid the motor to start?

The strange thing is the motor runs fine but when fails you need to wait around and hour to start it again and runs fine again.

During the failure when you try to start the motor it start sometimes but turns off fast.

Apparently something is cuting the start.

when it doesnt start, try checking that spark is at the plugs...

you may have carbeurator issues...MAY...

that motor probably has the SLOW system...

the SLOW system wont shut off the motor, but it will limit the rpms..

and it turns itself on when the engine is already running!!
