Mercruiser 4bbl Carb Question...

Do I need to remove the entire carb from the motor...or can I just pull off the upper part of the carb?

It would probably help if we knew what you were trying to do. The carb either is on or off the engine, it would be a terrible mistake to diassemble a carb which still mounted to the engine.

the motor dogs out when i WOT, I wanted to check the carb and see if there was any build of any kind--and clean it.

Ayuh,... Then take if Off, 'n Rebuild it....
