Edit: I think I have most of my questions answered but one, can I just get any brace kit to store it in the semi-up right position?

Well, MY rule of thumb--
Wide as your beam
Tall enough (from the point your attaching pivot base from) to stand up
Long enough to cover what you need to cover ( adverage is 6'-8')

Re: Another bemini top question

thanks for the input, I guess I will have to bring a measuring tape. Would anyone happen to know the average size bemini for a 19'?

Thanks,

Like Boss Hawg said 6'-8' long average, I have a 6'long 41"high giving me 6' clearance under top on my 18'. here is a pic.

The average size would be of little importance, it needs to be something that fits your boat's layout and your needs. So get the tape out and start measuring.

Re: Another bemini top question

So I measured my boat and it looks like 6ft would be fine. I think an 8ft+ would be a little overkill.

Another question, I see a lot of people have their beminis stored folded up, but still attached with a cover over the bemini. Is this standard for all bemini tops?

The boat currently comes with a camper inclouser thing, but I want a bemini for the head room and air flow.

Anyone have any suggestions on a bemini top maker? It looks like iboats has one, how is that?

Re: Another bemini top question

Thank you for the suggestion I am planning on getting a Forrest Green Bemini that is 6ft long that is 79" wide and I am thinking of 46" tall. If I get something about 36" then my head could be used as a support to keep the top up. I am mostly worried about the midday sun as it is hotter and has less atmosphere to travel through.

My only question is brand, quality, and support bars. I am looking at one made out of Sunbrella, since that is what my current boat uses for it's camper enclosure. Do you have to buy the rigid bars that support the bemini when it is in the stored position separately?

Thanks,

Honestly, there is no rule of thumb cover what you like or don't. Keep into account the passengers on board and where they will be at as well. Mine covers from the back seats to the front glass and makes for plenty of shade.

I have seen some guys who run double bimini tops here in Texas though it gets plenty hot and I guess they need all the shade they can get.

Went ahead and ordered one from iboats should be here on the 22nd. Thought I give iboats my business since I have learned a lot of information from this site.

CONGRATS!
I try to support IBOATS when I can too. Always nice to support the sponsor here, or it may not be here one day! The knowledge here is awesome & has helped me out a ton with many different topics. Most of which are just from threads others have started by using the search engine.
