Fuel Filter/Separator Mounting Bracket?

I have searched the threads and searched several marine parts suppliers including iBoats and cannot find a fuel filer/water seperator mount bracket to fit my '93 Stingray 3.0L which was not factory fitted with one for some reason. I want to keep the aftermarket mount/filter/bracket as factory looking as possible but in order to do that, I gotta locate a bracket. If I can locate an angle plate(preferably stainless steel or aluminum), I can bolt the plate to the floor beside the fuel pump and then drill and mount the filter mount kit. But, an angle bracket that size (I calculate about 10" tall x 7" wide) to allow me enuff room to screw on and screw off the filter canister will be an expensive piece of metal for sure.

What have others fabricated? I would like to keep the fuel line from the tank to the filter as short as possible so mounting the kit back to the transom area doesn't appeal to me. Too much of a chance to damage the fuel line at some point when running it that far from the tank. The tank is mounted under the rear bench seat in front of the engine.

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions in advance.

My philosophy is if it is installed neatly and safely, then the appearance will take care of itself.

Water seperating fuel filters are not standard equipment on any 3.0L. Never has been.
Find a kit you like and install it between the fuel tank and the fuel pump on the engine.
That means the lines go from the tank to the filter then to the fuel pump on the enegine. The filter can be mounted where every you have room for it.

Re: Fuel Filter/Separator Mounting Bracket?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Yeah Steve, that's the kit I have but it has to be bolted to something.......there has to be a bracket for the spin on mount to bolt to for support and that bracket is what I'm trying to locate. Thanks for your time. And yes, I am aware that the filter kit HAS to be mounted BETWEEN the tank and the fuel pump so that the pump sucks fuel thru the filter and not pumping to the fuel filter.

Re: Fuel Filter/Separator Mounting Bracket?

Thanks Chief.......you and I seem to have the same idea. I think the angle floor mount bracket will work fine for me. The fuel filter and oil filter will be right there kind of beside each other. There'a a welding shop not far from me that can weld an angle bottom on a flat piece of aluminum I'm sure. I'll also scout out the auto wrecking yard to see what I can find since I like doing that anyway. There's got to be an engine accessory bracket like a cruise control regulator bracket or something I can work with.
Thanks again.
