Do I need any special tools to do a carb kit on my '81 90hp carbs? I'm picking the kits up today from my local marine supplier. What about cleaning fluid? I have some seafoam spray.

Re: Carb kit question...

Bump, well I got some carb cleaner and am ready to soak them, the little spring that holds the float to the seat on the lower carb had come off. I blew them out and they seem to not be plugged but I'll clean them anyways. I have another question, the carb rebuild kit has a bunch of small o-rings and parts...I know I have to take off the rubber and plastic parts of the carb before I soak it, the 4 jet screws have them on each carb and I'm wondering where the rest are, if anyone's had experience with this before please chime in...also, I re-ask the first question, am I going to need any special tools?

Thanks...I'll be reading my workshop manual after work today as well.

K got my manual out and it tells me everything I asked. I can make the special tool 317002 but not sure if I even need to. I don't think I'll need to remove any of the jets, they all blow through ok. I'll just repair the lower float and replace the seat and clean them out.
