Hello all not been here for a while!!
Simple question to the people who know I hope!
Can anybody tell me what my boat is.
I know that it is at least fourty yrs old and it is made of marine plywood. Its 13ft long and when I bought it the previous owner had fitted a cab on it.
The closest I can get while searching the net is that it resembles a old type of speed boat.
I was planning to use it for fishing but time and the lack of storage is forcing me to maybe try to swap for a sit on top sea kayak. who knows it may be only good for firewood!
Please guys any ideas, (this is the third forum I have joined with no luck)
Thanks
Wil.

Re: Mystery Boat

The construction of the boat (sans the top) looks typical of home built boats in the 50's and 60's. There are lots of free plans for building these plywood boats, many were published in magazines like Mechanix Illustrated and Popular Science and the like.

Boats like this:

Looks like you are not in the US. (long skinny license plates)
That throws a whole new wrench into this mystery boat.

Good luck!

Re: Mystery Boat

Really what part??

Not really sure. My grandma passed a few years back. Just after I started taking intrest in where our family came from. My Great Aunt was doing research but failling health has put a halt to that. I would like to get what she has and continue it.

I probably have some distant cousins over there. Would be neat to see what, if any, similarities there might be.

By the way, that boat would look pretty good redone.

Re: Mystery Boat

unfortunately the weather is crap over here and it is stored at my fathers house, I have owned it for about a year and a half and it seen water once.
Shame really it deserves a little time spent on it returning it to its original condition and putting back on the water.
