Take a look at this boat !

I've been trying since spring to get this boat. Now I have two of them. My first one was purchased in May after watching it for sale on craigslist over the winter. With a lot of help from members on this forum I have gotten it to where I can get in it and go ...and pretty fast. But when I seen this second one, it had everything the first one was missing (windshield, seat cushions and original motor and parts) plus the hull is so much nicer. I can't wait to get started on it.
No where can I find any information on it, such as the maker, history, etc. and that is why I am posting this. Besides that, I knew many of you just like to look at some old classics.
The year is 1967 and is titled as a Champion 17'. If you can help me with any more info, Thanks.

Gorgeous boat you got there. What kind of outdrive is that and do you have it? Being a '67 maybe there might be some parts issues there.

Looks like a Volvo transom assembly. Possibly a Volvo engine too.

If you're rebuilding the whole boat, changing the transom to a modern Volvo or MerCruiser is not that difficult.

......Yeah, it is a Volvo. The bottom half of it was laying in the driveway when I got it. And it was locked up. That is why it isn't in the pic's. Originally it had a Holman Moody plate on it, but that part is missing too.
I would not mind a swap out or putting back the way it was, only money will tell.

it is odd to see a left hand controls in a boat with outdrive--be an awesome project though--good luck-
