Water in the lower unit

I changed my lower unit oil yesterday and much to my dismay, the oil was a milky white color. This was after four trips to the lake this season, two of which were four days on the water (without taking the boat out) I looked for any signs of leaks, got new filler and drain plugs and installed new oil. The motor is a 1993 Johnson 120. Are there any "problem spots" on this particular motor that tend to leak. I did have the water pump changed early this spring by a guy I trust. I dont know if something didn't get put back together correctly or if there is something else that I need to be looking for. I have had this motor for about six years and never had this problem before. Any Ideas??

Re: Water in the lower unit

Remove the prop and see if there is any fishing line around the prop shaft.
You can pressure test a lower unit to try and find the source of a water leak.
You might run it and recheck the oil since you replaced the drain and fill screw gaskets.

The water pump repair had nothing to do with the lower unit sealing.

ok, No line around the prop, Good to know that the H2O pump replacement has nothing to do with the water. I'm taking it to the lake on Monday and will be in the water for about 24 hours. I'll recheck the oil when I get home and see if there is water. If so, back to the boat doc.

Thanks for the help!
