1977 mercury 160 inline 6

is a 1977 mercury 150 inline 6 lower end without power tilt the same as a 1978 mercury 150 v-6 with power tilt ? i want to put the 78 lower end on my 77 upper end. please share your knowledge

I didn't answer yesterday, because I am not completely sure. However, I think the midsections are completely different. You should be able to tell by looking at the powerhead bolt patterns. You can look up the powerhead gaskets and see if they are the same. I think they are completely different.
