Product to clean white vinyl seat cover?

Good day everyone.

I just recently bought a new 2010 Bayliner 175 (5 days ago). All the seating cover are white, and they get dirty pretty easily. I'm currently just using a towel with water to wash them at the moment as I do not want to use a product that shouldn't be used on those covers.

Any suggestion on what I should use to clean/protect my covers.

Thanks.
Dominic.

Hey Dominic.

Look for 303 products. They're the best. :)

Clean with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, then protect after cleaning with 303.

Where can you buy 303? Do you have to get it at a marine store?

Also look at Clorox Clean-up. Minimal amount of bleach and works great with just a spray and a rag (use white rags).

I go to the Dollar Store & get their version of the Magic Eraser. They work awesome on a ton of different clean-up applications...

Wesley's Bleche White - It is some mean stuff - spray it on, let sit about 15 seconds, then wash with regular soap and water & rinse well. Its actually tire/whitewall cleaner But I use it for everything. I get it al Wal-Mart in automotive. good luck

Many options....

One that works best for the white on my seats. Spay liberal amount of a product called AWESOME (dollar store for 1.00). I use that and then wet a Mr. Clean sponge and scrub. Seats turn out gleaming white.

Re: Product to clean white vinyl seat cover?

I have tried a lot of different things over the years. Some quite expensive, others not so much...until a few years ago.

I had a hole patched in the backrest cushion in the bow. The upholstry guy started cleaning the area to be repaired. I always thought my seats were clean. I was wrong. He said it was "Spray Nine". I went to ACE and picked up a bottle. Now I buy it by the gallon. This stuff is unreal. My seats are remarkable.

We spray it on and it starts cleaning before the rag hits it. We scrub it in a bit and wipe it off with a clean damp rag.

If your new seats are cleaning up with just water then just use 303 protectant on them and you will still be able to use just water to clean them.

Do not! I repeat! do not use anything with bleach on new seats there is no need to.

303 will protect your seats and make them really easy to clean with just water. A lot of people on here are using different products because their seats are several years old and that's fine, but not on new seats.

I use soft scrub. It gets down in the grain of the vinyl and cleans it out!

Don't let any product with bleach in it get onto the stitching. Will wipe the thread out and you will blow out your seams in no time.

A detailer recommended Tuff Stuff to me. I've been using it for years. It works on short-pile carpets too.

Not entirely true. I've been an upholsterer for 17 years and I have used Clorox Cleanup for almost 10 years and have never had a problem. It has less than 2% bleach (sodium hypochlorite) therefore doesn't harm the threads in the stitching.

Using anything over 5-10% bleach will damage stitching if:
1) it's left on to dry -or-
2) not rinsed with clean water -or-
3) UV thread wasn't used in the making of the cushions

Don't be afraid of adding a 1/2 cup of bleach to a gallon of water & soap. You will be amazed at how clean your stuff will be. Lightly rinse after (mist) and dry.
