Need help finding replacement fuel pumps. Does Sierra make these? Or do I need to buy the entire assembly from Volvo? Thanks for any suggestions.

Details: 2001 Crownline 225
Motor = 8.1GSI-A 4012033078 3869088

The following numbers are stamped into each pump, but I don't think these are part numbers?

High: 282 2240A
Low: 342 2240C

The fuel system exploded view I found online shows the complete fuel pump kit is 21397771, or the high pressure kit is 3588865.

Does anyone know a part number for the low pressure pump?

The low pressure pump is not sold seperately. You need the kit to replace it.

Re: Volvo 8.1 GSI Replacement Fuel Pump PNs?

Big-Red, I had a fuel issue last year with my 2000 Volvo 5.7 GSI PEFS with 160 hours. I purchased a low pressure pump from Sierra in an attempt to get around purchasing the entire fuel cell which runs between $525 and $850 for my boat. I paid somewhere around $225 for the low pressure pump alone and still had to buy the entire fuel cell. I would test the pressure in your fuel system...other members may jump in to tell you how to test your system. I found this website to be very helpful with lots of good opinions. Some other members that had a similar issue took apart the fuel cell (mechanics) but Volvo recommends agents it because it's designed to be one self contained unit and taking it apart will compromise the seals. I never tested my fuel system because of the time frame on an upcoming trip that I had planned and I didn?t own any of the tools that were required anyway. Sierra did not sell the high pressure pump for my engine. Good luck, fuel issues suck!
