Gas cap vent

I have a 2004 wellcraft costal . I have looked all over the boat and can not find a vent for the gas tanks. A few week ago i changed the O-RING on the gas cap
with a thicker one. Now when I opened it there was alot of back pressure that
was released. Were there boats produced that the gas cap vented the tanks.
I had no problem filling it up. Thanks

What if you remove the O ring? Will it splash/leak?

I am going to replace with a thinner one, I spoke to someone at Wellcraft
and it could be a vented cap. I have to check later tonight. thanks
