cleaning fiberglass

what's the best way to clean a fiberglass boat? especially the scum from the water line, can I use a pressure washer? with hot water? I don't want to do any damage to the finish. boat is 11 years old but always inside and still has the shinny finish.

I would try waxing it with a fiberglass wax. I doubt that pressure washing will touch the scum line.

Just read some other posts about washing it with muriatic acid mix. I used to clean fiberglass pools like that, worked well, go check out the other posts for details.

I've read to use toilet bowl cleaner on the water line.

StarBrite hull cleaner for the scum line and below. Spray it on (upwind ) let it sit a minute or two, hose it off. Wash with soap & water. Dry. Wax.

I have used the Muriatic Acid on one boat and it worked very well.

Lately I was tipped off to try Tilex mold and mildew remover for some tough interior stains. After using it a bit, I decided to try it out on the cockipt area. Night and day difference. It takes all the dirt off the glass, and even did a bit on some of the darker staining. Once this was "clean" I hit it with a compound/polish by hand and then last a good boat wax. This cleaned, shined and protected these areas.

It might be worth a try on the scumline? Cheap and easy to get at any Walmart or discount store, and it seemed to work very well for me.

Be aware, it has bleach in it, and stinks something bad. I would recommend gloves. I didn't wear them and my hands still smelled after 3 or 4 washes. Haha.
