Anyone know what the recomended WOT rpms are for a 1988 110 evinrude vro? All I can get now is 4200 maybe a prop change and iI could get more speed.

Re: WOT rpms?

IF you are firing on all cylinders your WOT rpms are low.

You should be more around 4800-5000 rpms. Lugging the motor is not good.

You will need to decrease the pitch in order to increase the WOT rpms. What size prop are you currently running?

Start with making sure the motor is set up correctly (height, trim etc) and the boat is loaded properly to begin with. As said above, make sure the motor is capable of performing properly. Compression, spark, fuel delivery etc. Then move on to the prop.
