'95 Evinrude 88 fuel pump ?

I have a Evinrude 88, it's a 1995 on a Starcraft 19'.

Runs great 35 MPH at 4K fully loaded..... Only problem is it starts to stall out after the fuel tank get's approx 1/2 empty.
Pumping 4-5 times solves the problem for about 5 minutes.

Has anyoneheard that this engine has a weak fuelpump, or maybe this means my fuelpump is ready for replacement...

Any suggestions would be great.

Its possibly the fuel pump, but more likely a pin hole in the pickup tube, or an air leak in the line someplace.

Follow ondarvr's diagnosis for a possible air leak. Check the hose clamps for looseness as well as the rubber orings in the hose fittings.

Once on my 1995 17' Starcraft I found an oil bottle that was in the motor well where the tank line comes out that was laying against the hose bending it over and causing very similar issues. I'm not saying you have the same issue, I think the first responses are the answer to your problem, but make sure nothing is up against that hose.

It's pretty clear you have a fuel delivery problem, rather than a fuel pump issue.

A number of possible causes, such as:

. air leak on pump suction side (bad clamp, cracked hose, cracked tank pickup tube, etc., etc.)
. malfunctioning anti-siphon valve
. plugged tank vent
. trash blocking tank pickup screen
. plugged fuel filter
. collapsed fuel line
