I have a 1995 Fling that has been winterized and sitting in a garage for the last couple of years. I purchased it in an estate sale for next to nothing in 2004 and used it a few times.
The boat seemed pretty slow out of the hole and seemed to top out at around 35MPH with two people in it (combined weight of around 320 pounds). With a third person in the boat it wouldn't even plane. The engine knocks and the spark plug in one cylinder appears to have been hit by something as the gap was completely closed and there are noticeable impact marks on the plug. Someone suggested that the plugs I was running were too long but they are the correct plugs..
I'm pretty sure the top end needs to be rebuilt but I'm hoping someone else that owns a Fling can tell me how the boat is supposed to perform. How does it run with 3 or 4 adults in it? What is the approximate top speed with a single adult in it? Just wondering if it's worth rebuilding for some of my family members to use when they're over instead of letting them loose in my Horizon. Thanks in advance.
