Hello everyone and great site, I've been using site site for to 2 years now with alot of helpful ideas and suggestion.

Last night I went out fishing I had a few small issue's with my downriggers and had to take the batteries out to readjust. After I fixed everything up I pushed both batteries back in. The Motor battery went to far and arced out on the aluminum(forgot to put the cap on the batt box). That caused the motor to shut down. Checked for spark and had none on all three cylinders. The motor turns over when I try to start it with the key and I checked the fuse as well and its ok. So.... Is there anything else that could cause the spark issue besides the powerpack, coils and stator? Anything at all? I changed the powerpack and the coils with some spares that I have but still no spark.
One more thing. The wires running up to the ignition were warm to touch. Not smoking hot just warm, and I didn't smell anything burning.

Thanks in Advance

To start disconnect the black/yellow kill wire and retest your spark. If you now have spark, the kill circuit has a fault-possibly the keyswitch, harness or shift switch. The warm wires indicate resistance, if they are corroded internally they will need to be replaced.

If still no spark disconnect the yellow wires from the stator to the rectifier and retest your spark. If the ignition now fires, replace the rectifier, you may have blown it when the battery arced.

Tested and fixed!! First disconnected the black and yellow, turned engine over and no spark. Disconnected the yellow wires from the rectifier and now have spark. I have an extra rectifier as well so I'm going to install it tonight.

Thanks a lot for the info Chris.
