My motor is a evinrude 10hp 1957 mod#10014, my flywheel is cracked.
So i got one from ebay evinrude 10hp 1958. The problem is the one from
ebay is smaller than mine, it will fit on mine. But i can't put my recoil starter
on it because it is smaller. So what is the differance is it the years or
just model differance or what???

Great site found lot of info. here

Re: Flywheels???

I found parts diagrams for 1957 and 1958 Johnson 10 hp's (couldn't find them for evinrude) and the flywheels and starter pulleys are definetely different part numbers for 1957 and 1958. I would assume the Evinrudes are different also from what you are saying.

Re: Flywheels???

When they went to the lighter weight 10 hp model in 1958 they took weight out in the mid-section and also the flywheel.

I think I may have a flywheel here for a '56/'57. Do you have a casting number?
