Ok guys, got another question, I know all I do is ask, sorry..

Got the starter, trim motor/pump, blower, steering cable and helm and distributor, rotor and plugs replaced.

But starts, idles around 850-900 rough, Took it out today and ran fine for about 5 mins, wot and out of the hole could be better, but dont know what prop is on it.

After about 5 mins, decided to bring it to idle to see if she idled better after warmed up, temp went from about 180 to about 250 or so really quick, then died in idle, limped it back to dock about 100 feet.

Figure its got to be the impeller, since the boat sat for about 1.5 to 2 years.

I have no idea what outdrive is on it, or what impeller kit to order. Can any tell me what drive is on it and what kit I need? Also if anyone has a link to the manual for the outdrive to show what I have to do to replace it would be great!

Thanks again for all the help, wouldnt be this far without you guys!

So i am guessing then that to remove it, its the three large bolts on either side of the drive, disconnect the trim rams, and the whole tap section will come off?

best is to shift into full fwd, remove the 6 nuts, rams, pull straight back.Get it in some type of stand, remove trim tab, under it is a allen head bolt, 2 bottom nuts, 1 front nut, 2 side nuts, unit drops free.

Hmmm thinking I might be better off having it done somewhere.

Didnt realize that the whole out drive needs to come off for it. Dont know what I would support it with. Seems like a little more then a half hour job or so?

If I do it myself, are there any other issues or precautions I should be aware of or take to ensure that I dont mess anything else up in the process?

Just tilt it all the way up and remove the lower only (always in forward gear) The pump housing is on top of the lower around the vertical drive shaft.

If your housing is not melted all the mr/alphas and large gear case outboards use the same impeller.

So I can just remove the lower section itself then? I am planning on getting the whole kit, not just the impeller, since it has sat for close to two years and was told it was running hot before that, reason they gave up on it.
