Hello everyone!

I currently looking to buy a 16 foot 1990 Sunbird Bowrider. I have a 16' (homemade) trailer (for my 14' boat). Will a 16' boat fit on the trailer? It will stick about 1 to 2 feet past the rear pads.

Any help is much appreciated!

get a bigger trailer. youll be appreciative when trailering and when launching. i have a trailer for my 14' aluminum boat and it rides on the straight tongue part of the trailer and a little of the back its a bear to put on the trailer especially in choppy/windy weather

Will it fit? Ya maybe. Is it safe? HELL NO! The transom of the boat should be supported by either keel rollers or bunks depending on what kind of trailer you have since that is where the majority of weight is, outboard or I/O. If you go dragging that boat around with the rear end hangin off your just asking for some kind of nasty accident.

Thats what I thought... It has no motor on it, I only need to drive is 3km home to attach the new motor. Then it will be switched to a bigger trailer to get it up to the cottage. I think i will play it safe and get a bigger one before something goes wrong.

Thanks everyone!

why not bring the bigger trailer from the cottage to pick it up?
