Have a well taken care of 93' 115hp yamaha (550 hrs) that has a low oil sensing issue. Problem occurs when running on plane doesn't matter RPM and does not happen very often ( once every 1/2 hr). Engine will cut to safe RPM's and all three oil indicators will flash. I pull back to neutral wait a couple seconds the oil indicator goes back to green and everything is normal. What I have checked. Pulled cover off immediately when alarmed to verify engine oil tank was full and it was. Checked screen in engine oil tank, very clean, Remote tank 1/2 full, inspected wiring around engine oil tank and found nothing suspect. Have read a number of threads that have touched on this , but am confused as to how to diagnose and what the permanent solution is. Help would be much appreciated.

Re: Yamaha 93 115TLRR oil alarm

when was the last servicing of the remote oil filter?
typically 3 bars flashing is a restricted filter causing slow transfer.
means the oil control module"sees" enough oil in the remote for transfer yet it also "sees" the engine oil tank low level switch is closed.
3 bars flashing and oil transfer for 180 seconds.

Re: Yamaha 93 115TLRR oil alarm

filter did not seem to have any restriction. I did not have a new one to replace this old one, but oil would flow easily through the filter just by gravity so I don't think this is the issue.
I have pulled the hood off immediately after having the alarm activate and the oil tank has been right to the full mark.
Any other ideas.
