Boat has leaky carb...

I'm thinking of buying a boat with an exististing problem. I'm close to ruling it out as its just a huge red flag to me.

The seller stated to me the boat had a leaky carb, and otherwise ran just fine. (nice contradiction) There is a problem but its fine?

Anyways, can someone give me the basic difference between fuel injection and carb motors and how a leaky carb would effect performance and how difficult of a repair are we talking here?

Its an outboard, so you would want opinions on leaky carbs over in the Evinrude/Johnson forum, vs a leaky I/O carb.

Leaky carb is an easy fix. Some people like efi, I prefer carb. You will get about the same performance with either.
