I recently purchased a 2003 Hurricane Fun Deck with a 150 Johnson and have some slow idle issues with the motor and throttle up stalling going on as well. I thinking about taking the fuel pickup out of the tank and replacing with new and putting new fuel line on to the bulb while installing the new fuel filter as well. My question to you is HOW IN THE WORLD do you get access to the fuel lines in this boat. The hatch to access the battery compartment doesnt look big enough to work through. I can barely touch the fuel line on the tank from there. There is a seat in the back of the boat but it doesnt look like it has removable bottom to me. Anyone familiar with this boat have any ideas to help me out? I think I have a problem with the fuel line because I can squeez the bulb and when I release it I hear a sucking noise like it is sucking air? I wouldnt think that I should be hearing that in the bilge area but maybe I am wrong about that. As you may guess by now I am not a seasoned outboard motor person. But I have no problem tackeling this myself if I can figure out how to get to the parts I need to work on. There are a few hatches that screw off in front of the outboard but none appear to be in the right spot to access the fuel tank line connection. Thanks for any advice.
