1977 Mercury 9.8 110 newbie question

Hey everyone.. So I just got a little 9.8 kicker motor for my silverline. It is a 1977 Mercury 9.8HP 110 motor. Guy I bought it from says it needs a new waterpump.. Question.. How does one get the hood off? I feel embarased to ask but I am waiting for the manual to come. I would like to check everything over.

There's a little latch at the bottom, rear, Stbd (right) side of the motor's lower cowling. Pull that latch to the rear and she'll pop right open. Note that if for some reason you don't see a latch there, check next to the choke knob as older models had one there which pulls towards you to unleash the motor cover.
