Hi,

I picked up a fuel pump diaphragm kit and have a questions.

The diaphram itself which is the solid black rubber type material is installed facing the engine and the gasket sits on top of it correct?

I am only able to replace the removable reed gasket in the center that is held in by 2 screws because the book says the outside ones are pressed in and if removed they would need to be replaced and pressed in. The center gasket was worn so more than likely the outer ones are as well but I do not want to get into replacing them right now because I want to enjoy the rest of the season.

The larger round gasket that is included I am scratching my head on because there was not one when I took the pump apart, is this supposed to be used if the rubber slotted gasket is worn or broken?

The round gasket is for the the inlet housing where your screen filter is at.I just replaced the check valves in my 125 took about a half hour and she ran like new again, no more flooding out!

Hey Cobra how did you get the 2 side check valves out of the housing? what did you use to seat them back in with?

The existing rubber gasket for the filter housing seems to be in good shape so I will save the card board one for a rainy day.

I used a dremal to grind slots on each side then popped then out with a flat screw driver. To put them back in I used a 12mm deep well socket to drive them back in, just be carefull with the dremal go slow and try not to grind into your fuel pump housing.

the gasket goes on the block and the diaphram is sandwiched between the gasket and the fuel pump.
