Long story short..
I picked up a boat from a friend that has stored his boat for over 7 years.
Engine has 130 hrs on it.
Here's a link from the last thread I made.

http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=417733

Things I've done..
1. Change to a new starter.
2.New 800 cca battery
Updated parts.
impeller
spark plug/wires
thermostat

Now that I got her cranking she won't start.
I checked for spark and didn't find anything.
I checked for fuel in the carbs and it was dry.

What do I do now?

Thanks for any and all help.

replace the fuel filter and fuel lines, and i would rebuild the carb too... was it sitting uncovered? did you check to see if the fuel pump is working? wiring is good? coil? plugs? plug wires?

Also, not related to the firing, i would also change the oil and oil filter.

The engine was covered durring storage.

Anyone know a good place to order the rebuild kit for the carbs and a new fuel pump/lines, coils, plugs and plug wires?

All of the above plus these

1)Remove spark plugs and squirt oil into cylinders..let sit for a few days.
2)Remove distributor and operate oil pump until you have full oil pressure for a few minutes.
3)Replace distributor and rotate engine by hand.
4)Run engine off portable tank or main tank once all old gas is removed from tank and tank is verified clean

Thanks for the heads up.
I was wondering is the rebuild marine carb kit the same as the ones for automotive?
If so/not what's the difference?

Update!
good news I was cleaning out the boat and found a NEW ign. coil!!
What luck.
I replaced my old one out and squirt a little starter fluid in and VRoOoooommm!!!
My baby started right up in one crank!
I let her idle for a bit and she was purring.

Now that I know she starts and runs I will replace everything!
alt. spark plugs/wires, fuel filter/lines, impeller, thermostat, and all the hoses.
What else should I replace while I'm at it?
Anything I'm missing?

Thanks guys!
It was hard work that's for sure, but I had a some good company and a chest filled with ice and some cold ones so it wasn't so bad.

Waiting for the parts to come in is the hardest part!

I was gonna suggest some things for the origional no spark and fuel issue, but looks like you got that handled.

Your boat looks about as bad as mine did. Now that its shining, you will probably have to keep it waxed pretty regularly. I have to wax it about every other week when I take it out all weekend or it sits outside. When its in the garage and I am working on the weekends, I can let it go a month or so.

Glad you got it running. Sounds like you got a decent project there.

A little bit of rubbing compound and a whole lot of elbow grease will do the trick.
Make sure you have an orbital or you will be working on your hull til next session. lolz

Yeah I didn't want to throw too much money at it before I get her fired up.
Now that she runs great I will be redoing the interior.
I will remove the back to back style seating and will be installing captains chairs.
I'll have some more pictures up soon.

I have removed the pin-stripping from the top part of the boat because the original ones were peeling off and looked really bad.
I only finished one side of the boat and will take pictures to show you guys the before and after.
