First let me say I'm new to your forum and know you guys have some great know how. Here is my problem, This engine was purchased new and ran great for years. There are probably less than a few hundred hours on it. About 5 years ago I had a problem with the plugs fouling and took it to a local mechanic who told me the VRO tank was shot and just get a standard tank and mix 100:1 as indicated on the housing. Everything was fine for a while, but recently I experienced a problem which I thought was a bad fuel line or primer bulb from the tank to the engine. I replace it and the motor ran, but not great. I was told the new E fuel could have ruined the internal fuel line. Additionally the new tank was a generic tank and I came to find out that Evinrude has their own fitting to attach at the engine. I have replaced the internal fuel line, screen filter and gasket, and fuel line connector on the engine. The spark plugs are new ( Champion QL77JC4) The engine starts fine but when I run in gear the engine just bogs down and stalls. I read other post about removing the VRO or mixing @ 50:1. Any suggestions would be great. I'm not a mechanic so try to keep it simple

Are you saying that you are running it on a 100:1 ratio now?
It should use a 50:1 premix ratio, if you have removed the VRO.
You might want to check the compression and spark to make sure both cyliners are ok.
You also have a high speed jet in the carb that could be clogged and not delivering the proper amount of fuel at high speed.

So you are premixing oil and gas in a 6 gal tank at 100:1 and not putting oil in the VRO tank, correct.

Yes, Just stepped out back to try it again, I notice the water coming out is not warm, maybe because it's about 100 degrees here and I lost my sense of temp.
Probably the engine has not warmed up yet. How complicated is it to do the fuel jet cleaning? I work with intricate little parts at my job and have a very good eye for detail. I should probably buy the service manual for the engine, but the crabs are running hard and I'm salivating.

If you are premixing in a 6 gal tank you should be using a 50:1 ratio. The VRO system will run leaner but it controls the ratio. The only thing your VRO is doing know is a fuel pump.
To check the high speed jet the carb will have to come off, the jet is inside of the float bowel.

Daviet thanks again, I'll give it a try. I appreciate your help, and anyone with any other ideas I would be more than glad to give it a shot. I'm stepping out to get a cold one with the wife, she just got a promotion. Maybe she'll have some extra cash to get a new motor.

I'd do a carb service with a kit as a starting point.
