My first posting...please be gentle guys.
The oil warning lamp on my 2009 model Suzuki DF50 just started flashing (no audible alarm). The outboard has probably only ran around 18 - 20 hours so I hope it is just the oil change reminder. I will of course check the level first, then change the oil as soon as I can. But in the meantime is there any way to cancel the alarm? It doesn't say how to do this in my manual. Do I also need to change the filter and/or strainer on the first oil change?
Thanks up-front:)

Re: Suzuki DF50 oil warning lamp

dunno about the DF50 but on the bigger DF motors you turn the key on,remove the stop lanyard.grab the switch and pull it out and release it 3 times within ten second you should get a confirmation beep then turn the key off and reistall the lanyard to the stop switch.

and by the way, welcome aboard.
I dont do much suzuki posting as I am a yamaha master tech.
however most the system operate on the same principle and just hours earlier I help a mobile tech here in my area with the same issue on a DF200.
