Humming along fine at 3000 rpm and hear a sound over the engine.
Idle the engine and hear knocking. Shut it down, jump into the Atlantic and felt prop. Won't turn. Stepped on ladder and tried to push prop with foot. Didn't turn.
TowBoatUs came and got me after I called in my GPS position. I am a member.
The first thing my Merc tech asked when he got the boat on a rack was : Were you jumping any waves (as in the prop leaves water when catching air).
No!
He will pull the drive today. What might be leading suspects? Knocking sound was just that: loud knocking. Engine was powering thru it and I was being propelled at time of knocking.
B1 is bolted to my 502 Merc.
1996.
Prop doesn't have even a scratch. Engine numbers were perfect.
