I have a 1987 90 hp johnson. Always started and ran fine until Thurs this week- seemed to have a loss of power. Pulled the cover off, and one of the spark plug wires was not connecting properly.
Fixed, and tried to start, and started and ran rough a couple of times, and died.
Now, will not start at all. I have no spark in any of the cylinders- pulled the boat out, and checked with new plugs. Not one has spark out of 4. You would think that if one power pack was bad, the other would fire. Is this true? What else could cause this? My manual says to disconnect the one pin circut stop connector- I will try this, but anything else?
oh yeah, my battery grouned out overnight, apparently, against my aluminum boat, and killed the battery. Could this do something?
Just need to know if I need two power packs, or how to test the ones I do have. seems strange that all 4 cylinders are dead, with no spark. Please offer any suggestions you can!!!
