I went looking for some entertainment for the beach this weekend and asked for a set of lawn "DARTS".
Well the lady at the store looked at me and started to rip a shred off me!!!
Do you know that "Those things are banned and could take an EYE out, OR WORSE".
She then prescribed that I buy a set of LAWN MUSHROOMS!!!
What are lawn mushrooms???
It is not the same as it was 20 years ago.
You can not throw snow balls (or some one could loose an eye)
(never happend on my block)

Kids don't play dodge ball (or it is assault)

TAG, Do not put your hands on anyone.

Chicken fights, well that was just weird anyway.

Running with scissors, at least this one is a olympic event now!!

Close, my cousins and I would throw them straight up in the air and dodge them as the hurled back towards earth. Darwin didn't catch up with any of us...

Yup. One of my earliest memories is my neighbour taking one of those things in the head. (thrown by his brother)

Lawn darts are long ago banned; get yourself some crossbows and have some real fun

"Lawn mushrooms", just not the same. We have a set for the little ones to play with.

We "older kids" have three sets of the original Jarts. Got one from my dad and two from my F-I-L. We will never get rid of those.

We've got a set of Jarts from the 70s in the original box and if I have anything to say about it they will be a family heirloom

I agree with Skargo, too many lawyers ruined our fun.

Yep, they were called Jarts, and everyone had them in the 70's! We did the throw them up in the air and run trick!

We "older kids" have three sets of the original Jarts. Got one from my dad and two from my F-I-L. We will never get rid of those.

I will give up my Jarts when they unwrap my cold, dead, fingers from around the flights.

Don't know where you're living, but at my son's elementary school they still have snowball fights and play dodgeball. Tag is still part of most recesses.

ps how come kids dont put playing cards on thier front forks with clothes-pins holding the card on (to simulate motorcycle chopper sounds)

Just a broad view of the way things have been changing over the years.
We all played those games and had fun, but here in BC (just to the north of you) they legislated manditory helmut wearing while riding a bycycle a couple of years back. This may save lives and head injuries, but we did ok as kids without all these new regulations.
And you do remember running with scissors, don't you.
