Downrigger mounting?

I have a 20 Weeres and recently purchased a downrigger but cannot find a decent place to mount it. 17 inch high railing around it that are too flimsy to hold the torque of a downrigger. I was hoping for some suggestions and-or pics from someone who has one mounted. Thank you in advance.

Wish we had a photo. I don't know your boat but I have purchased adapters that fit in a rod holder. I like the swivel type for easy accesibility to release clip.

That's a pressure treated 2x6 bolted down to the rails and the into the sides.

Works for me
