1988 Mercury Blackmax VS 1987 Blackmax

Hi everyone!!

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1987 175hp Blackmax as a parts engine. I currently have a 1988 175hp Blackmax and am curious if anyone knows if the parts from those two engines are compatible with one another?
