i have a 15 ft flat bottom back of the boat is a 20 inch. anyways a have a 6hp evinrude fisherman and the prop on the motor does not clear the bottom of the boat by about 3/4 of an inch. i have not had this in the water yet. wondering if since the prop is not all the way under the boat this would cause the boat to cavitate or if it would move at full throttle. any info would be great! thanks.

Re: motor height

Measure carefully w a straight edge using the antivent plate (just above the prop) as a reference.
Should be about even with the bottom of the boat possibly lower with the old style gearcase.pre 1980.
From your description I would say no it won't work. You could also measure from the mount bracket where it rests on the transom to the antivent plate.
it is likely about 17" (called a short shaft)
When measuring the transom measure vertically, not along the angle of the transom.

Re: motor height

thanks for the reply. i figured it would give me performance problems at higher trottle. it may work form me to put around on. but i also wanted to keep it up as high as i could b/c of low spots in the river. but i think the antivent plate is about 1 inch or so above the bottom of the boat. i may have to do some fabrication to the transom if im not happy with performance of the motor.
