Hull is different color

I just removed some factory vinyl on my Striper. I used Bio-solv It seemed to allow me to pull the vinyl off in strips. I could see where some adhesive was left. I removed it. Here is the question. The hull underneath the vinyl is a shiny light tan color. The rest of the boat is white. The biosolv doesn't do anything to the light tan. Is that the original color and the rest of the boat is heavily oxidized or is there more of the vinyl left. How do I get rid of it either way. I want to use poli glow and they say your boat has to be one color or it will lock the different shades in
Thanks

Welcome to iboats.

NOTHING will change the faded area. You can try wet sanding but you will not find that too helpful.

You have faded colors.

The color under the stickers is the original one, the rest of the hull has faded, There is nothing you can to fade the original color except leave it in the sun. To get the rest of the hull closer to the original color you need to sand and buff, it still may not match though.

Putting new stickers on solves the problem.

I just ran into this same problem on my sea ray. They are right, buffing will make it better but will not make it go away completely. Look at the link below. It shows a couple before and after pictures of my boat. In the before you can clearly see where all the vinyl was. In the after shot you can see a darker band about 1/4" wide up at the top of the gree stripe. Much better, but still visiblle.

Wet sand and buff m8..

There is no other way to rid your boat from "ghost" images .. ( aside from re-gel/paint ).

YD.
