okay,heres the situation,
all the carbs were just rebuilt and cleaned, new fuel pump, new water jacket, new impeller, new lower switch box,all new fuel lines and fuel tank, and complete link and sync.

the engine runs like a dream, only problem is:
after 25 minutes of wot the engine stalls, it starts back up again with no problem,it wont go above 1000 rpms or it will stall, if the engine is allowed to cool down,it runs fine then stalls after 20 minutes or so.

theory?
should i have replaced both switch boxes?
is it the stator?
something is overheating causing this problem.

all plugs have good fire, all cylinders are above 120 lbs.

I dont want to run the engine with it like this,WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
THANKS EVERYONE,

MIKE

Sounds like heat soak is affecting an electrical component. I think you're going to have to run it until it dies, then check for spark.

Parts don't heat up instantly, it takes time for heat to soak into electrical components... Hence the term.

It does sound like that's the problem, and if I was a guessing man, I'd have a guess that it's the high speed winding of the stator....

Get a DVA tester, go to the CDI web site and the directions on how to test all your electoral. AND start with the spark plugs, all should be .3 or less Ohms. If you still can't find the problem bring a timing light with you and when it starts again test to see which plugs aren't firing.

im running a stainless steel prop on my engine,it may be a 23 inch pitch,im not sure,
does anyone think that perhaps the prop is too big and its causing the engine to run too hot?

thanks mike
