Here's how to measure it http://www.rocketflap.com/transom_calc.php What they're doing with their "calculator" is high school trig. You've got a right triangle, with 2 known sides. In the example they show (9 inches and 2 inches) you take the inverse tangent of 2 / 9 and get 12.5 degrees.
