Need to find the right size prop for my 21 foot bowrider with 5.0mpi 260hp. boat came with 19p 14 1/4. with that prop i got a realy bad whole shot but ran 52mph at 4600 rpm. Spec is 4600-5000. To get a better whole shot i got a 4 blade apollo 18p 14 3/8 prop. Whole shot was awsome but was top speed was only 45 and rpms were at 5050. I would like to lower the rpms and and raise the top speed. apollo only makes 18p and a 20p. Do you think a 20p will get me what i am looking for. Thanks for your help

Re: 4 blade prop

If I would have to guess I would say the 20p would be the prop you're looking for. It'll lower your rpm to within specs probably and would definetly give you more top end speed.

Re: 4 blade prop

Generally a 4 blade will reduce speed but improve hole shot low to mid range performance and handling.Try to stick with same brand for more predictable performance.Your 19 may have bow lift which might hinder hole shot.
It appears if you go to a 17" 3 blade same brand and model as the 19 it should add "about 300 to 400 rpm.and improve hole shot. However a 17 seems low. You may have other issues. Is the bottom clean and smooth?Motor carefully tuned? Throttle opening all the way?

Re: 4 blade prop

Question what brand was your original prop and material type...If you could post the gearing of your outdrive it should be stamped on the side of the drive about 1' above the prop

Re: 4 blade prop

The gear ratio is 1:62. Original prop is a steletto and Both are ss props. Tuned up last fall and has a clean bottom. The bow rise is also twice as high with the 3 blade compared to the 4 blade. Thanks for the help
