Re: Can I borrow Your Boat?

My short answer is NO.

However, I acquired my boat from my SIL. My daughter is sad he sold it to me. (They needed the $$$). That said, he is the only one I would even trust taking it out. He already knows the boats quircks... (Not that there are truly any...) Touchy steering, a bit cold natured... Other than that... even my 24 yr Old son is on the "NO" list.

My $.02...

YMMV

Happy Boating!!! :)

My responsince was similar to an earlier post except that I always say you can borrow my wife but not my boat. I am now divorced from "that" wife. Funny, I never got any takers!

Re: Can I borrow Your Boat?

Leanding or borrowing a boat is one of the fastest ways to lose a friend To much can happen and to much blame to go around Say you borrow a boat You are cruising along at say 20 mph in deep water and the gearcase grenades. The boat repair shop says it blew from an impact. You KNOW you didnt hit anything, hell u were in 100 ft of water.. Who pays the $2500 plus for the repair ? A friendship can survive a NO on lending a boat. Not so easy to survive the more extreme situations that most likely WILL result from lending/borrowing a multi thousand dollar toy DONT DO IT !!!

Re: Can I borrow Your Boat?

That will probably be the answer that I give Friends.

Me: "You know what the fastest way to loose a friend is?"
Friend: "No, what?"
Me: "Letting him borrow my boat. Standard Boaters rule."
Friend: "Oh ok I understand.

Or

Friend: "hey, do you mind if I borrow your Boat this weekend?"
Me: "Do you mind if I borrow your wife for the weekend?"
Friend: "Sure."
Me: looking suprised as heck "Ok then I'll Take your wife out on the boat and you can stay here"
Friend: "Oh ok I understand."
Me: turning my head to watch my wife rolling on the floor laughing because she already knows the answer to the question.
