Went out today and until the motor warmed up after driving it around I had to continuously pump the primer bulb then it ran fine pulling a tub around for a while but as soon as I shut the motor off I had to pump the bulb several times to get it going again. Could this be a weak/ bad fuel pump or what else may be wrong. Thanks

I dont know as much as some people here, but different things that were mentioned to me would be a bad bulb, or the check valves in the fuel pump. .. Possibly dirty carbs....

Im sure someone else will come in here and give you better insight.. im still learning myself

Negitive the ball did not get hard at all. The ball is brand new however the hose is as old as the gas tank (10+yrs) the carbs were cleaned about a week ago.

do you see any fuel leaking anywhere in the fuel line, including the fuel line between the cowl and the fuel pump and between pump and carbs?

I'm not sure what motor it is but something tells me if its only running when your pumping the fuel for it you need to replace the fuel pump or the pumps diaphragm. Its obviously not pumping for its self.

It's a 1985 50hp force and I only have to pump it gas while I'm getting I off plane. Once it's going it runs by itself. If I'm just in gear idling it runs fine too
