Hello,
i have a live well that not hooked up to power. All the hoses and tubing is in place as far as I can see. I don't fish must, so I want to turn my live well in to a cooler. How do I get all the water to drain out after the ice melts. I tested it by pouring water in the well and it just stayed there. And when it rain the well just fills up. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Is there a fill tube or a plug in it? Pull it out if it's there. If that's already pulled and it's not draining then the outgoing hose is probably kinked or clogged. Every livewell I've ever seen as had some way to drain itself.

Due note though that unless you plan on doing it yourself, the livewell likely isn't insulated properly to be a cooler. It'll hold ice naturally, but it'll melt very fast compared to a regular cooler.

Determine which t/hull is your livewell drain, shoot a good stream of water into it. Sounds like it got some doodoocaca in it...

Re: Live well

The drain in some live wells is below the water line so some water may always be present unless you get on-plane, drain the water and have someone stick the plug in before you come off plane. Yes -- it is a stupid design but that's the way many of them are built.
